Using the Tarot to Live in Alignment
I’m writing this blog post from a beachside café in Da Nang, Vietnam. There are turquoise blue waves breaking into white foam as they travel towards soft white sand that stretches as far as I can see in each direction. The café I sit in is filled with locals, tourists and digital nomads and everyone is enjoying the vibe as they sip icy drinks.
I’m not telling you this to boast but because I’m a little bit incredulous that for the next six months at least this will be my life. I will not be working a 9-5 and I am free to plan my days based on desire and not obligation. But incredulous is maybe too strong a word, because a part of me knew that I would end up here. This was the goal I was working towards (not the one ultimate one but certainly the one on the pathway to the next). Freedom and space, to be and to create. Freedom to enjoy beautiful weather and food and marvel at different cultures.
So, this was the goal, but what was the process? Constant evaluation and pivots to keep directing myself towards more alignment and more joy and being more truly and fully myself and how did I do it? Tarot.
I credit my daily Tarot practise for becoming a person who even believes that they could welcome this kind of experience into their life. For a long time I had many beliefs that would have held me back from even imagining it. By asking good quality questions to the Tarot almost daily for the last five years I have had this steady evolution of self that has given me the finances, skills, belief and self-assurance to be able to make a decision like this.
Whilst I sit here the breeze blowing my hair gently across my face I delight in the present with lots of gratitude but also a quiet buzz for the potential for the future that I will create with the help of the Tarot. The card I keep pulling lately is the Magician, the creator, the manifestor. With this new-found freedom and my Tarot I will be expanding my view of what is possible for me, what I could dare to build and claim as my own. It’s exciting.
There isn’t one definitive question that I’ve asked the Tarot over the past five years that I credit with my growth but the following is a list of the types of questions I regularly ask the Tarot.
Questions to ask the Tarot to create an Aligned life;
- How am I showing up right now? What would be a more aligned energy
to embody?
- Where should my focus be right now?
- What action is in alignment with my highest good right now?
- What limiting belief is holding me back right now? What belief can I replace it
with?
- What is the highest potential for me in this situation? How do I achieve that?
The theme of these questions is that they are empowering and curious. They are questions that aren’t overly predictive in outcomes but show you how to generate the best outcomes for yourself, so you can live a life that feels in alignment with your values and desires.
